Hi! I’m Nicole ‘Nic’ Osterberg, the Founder and Lead Designer of Bask Floral Studio in beautiful Western North Carolina. When I’m not flowering there’s a good chance I’m crouched down on the side of a hiking path gazing at a plant, doing a happy dance while eating food, or simply keeled over laughing at my own jokes; my husband calls it my own comedy special.

Bask Floral Studio is where all my past paths collide into creating my flower-filled life purpose. My pivotal moment happened while living in New York City when I realized I needed a deeper connection to nature and to fully pursue what brings me happiness — aesthetics, working with my hands, and bringing joy to others. Rumi wrote, Let the beauty we love be what we do. This is me taking that line and running with it; almost a decade in and I’ve loved every moment of being in the flowering world.

After moving back to North Carolina I worked on an incredible flower farm for years that gifted me with an abundance of knowledge from seed to floral debut. My formal education in Film Studies has become the foundation of the way I design flowers with artfully composed storytelling intention and colorful feeling, while my years in luxury hospitality gave me the love of detailed quality care and giving others a memorable experience to look back on. My mission as a wedding florist is to create floral designs that represent your one-of-a-kind love and to have your planning experience be incredibly approachable and thoughtfully executed. For me, flowers are powerful and it’s an absolute honor to create with Mother Nature’s gift for you.

I chose the name Bask to give tribute to the blissful, time pausing, lovingly warm feeling experienced while taking in all of life’s beauty — there’s nothing like embracing the present moment.
